Our American Wine Story

Last night we went to the movies.  We were asked to talk about our experiences owning a winery before and after the film.  “An American Wine Story” hit many buttons for both of us.  Words like passion, feeling compelled to do this- you just had to. What was that moment when you knew you had to? We poured Viognier and Mourvedre before the show.  These are the wines that were such an influence upon us.  We talked to friends and wine club members and people we did not know.  It… Read More

The Storm

This past Wednesday was a very unusual day.  A tornado came through our small community of Courtney.  The vineyard and winery are one mile from the Courtney Elementary School where the roof to the gym is gone.  Many in this community grew up in that gym.  Trees are down a mile away, many trees along Courtney-Huntsville Road.  Photos on the news have shown this area where homes are gone and people are finding items miles away.  The photo below is what is left of the gym. Jojo’s Homestyle Pimento Cheese and Sydneys Gourmet Sandwiches

We know that it is not always possible to pack a snack and come for a visit.  So, we have taken that job away from you and are pleased to carry these here at the winery.  You can enjoy a bottle of wine and visit with friends while having lunch under the oaks.  The sandwich tray is $9 and they are delivered every Friday afternoon.  The pimento cheeses are here now and are available for $7 and $7.50.

The Tasting Room

People pull up to this old farmhouse and are not sure what to expect.  The front door opens and you are greeted- hey, hi, how are you doing?  There is that first time, you only get it once.  Hospitality is the word, the feeling of comfort and being welcomed, and a place to feel at home. And then there is the wine.  Do you like dry or sweet?  If you are given the look as though they are not sure, then it is probably not a dry wine they are… Read More
