This is Hanover Park

October 19, 2018 It is a busy time of the year here with weddings, festivals, high school reunions and harvest!  Over the past few weeks we have also had some special visitors- couples who have gotten engaged here as well as couples who were married here and now bring their little ones to see us.  Their anniversary brings them back to remember and share. People meet as strangers and become good friends in our back room.  They share a bottle of wine and a meal together and talk.  That has… Read More

Hurricanes and Harvest

September 21, 2018 This is that time of the year.  We wait all season to pick our grapes at the best moment. Mother nature sometimes has her own plan for us. Our Summer Wine Club Picnic was last Saturday evening.  We had a great crowd here who enjoyed a visit with friends new and old, along with dinner and of course wine. August is also the time when Michael is getting prepared for harvest.  The press, the crusher de-stemmer, the tanks and barrels will all be cleaned and ready to receive the… Read More

Tomatoes

Friday, July 27, 2018 The garden has been ok this year- the Roma tomatoes have been a WOW!  This is the third Friday of making sauce, this place smells wonderful. As I watch our grapes go through version and mature I know we are heading closer towards harvest.  The birds have not bothered us too much yet. So, as I make todays tomato sauce I think about ways to use it and which wines to pair with those meals.  I use my sauce as a base for many meals over… Read More
