On becoming a Riedel Ambassador
May 18, 2018This has been a busy month so far and it is only the middle of the month. The 1897 vertical tasting we had on May 6th was special and we were pleased that all of the wines showed well. We were very happy that the 2002 1897 was a favorite of many present. So, if you have a bottle at home we hope you will enjoy! The 2009 was also a favorite but we know it can age longer.
Last Thursday I headed out to Arizona to participate in a special event. I was asked to become a Riedel Ambassador. Riedel wine glasses have become a favorite glass to use here at the winery and at home. It was a wonderful, interesting and educational experience to have Georg Riedel, the 10th generation owner conduct all of our tasting seminars. It is exciting to see how their varietal glasses really make a difference.
Many of you have attended the special Riedel Wine Glass Tastings here over the years. It is the element of surprise at what a difference the glass can make. Red wines, Spirits, White wines and Champagne tastings over two days taught us a lot. It was surprising to taste the Champagne in a larger glass- more aroma and the bubbles loved that glass, the taste was wonderful also! We were told the glass will never let us down.

Off to the wine festival in Elkin tomorrow. It is that busy time of the year!
