July 13, 2018 Yesterday as Pearl and I were walking in the vineyard before heading home we came upon the start of version in the Syrah. This is when the grapes start to ripen and turn from green to red. Syrah is usually the first to begin this process. They are a long slender bunch which will turn quite dark. June 29, 2018 Eighteen years ago there were 10 wineries in the state of North Carolina. Most made sweet and fruit wines; a few produced dry wines.
