It is a busy time of the year here with weddings, festivals, high school reunions and harvest! Over the past few weeks we have also had some special visitors- couples who have gotten engaged here as well as couples who were married here and now bring their little ones to see us. Their anniversary brings them back to remember and share.
People meet as strangers and become good friends in our back room. They share a bottle of wine and a meal together and talk. That has grown to traveling together to explore new wines and countries and food and friendship.
When I think about this area when we started there were very few wineries around, 10 in the whole state of North Carolina. Times have changed and people have many choices, many still return to share a glass.
Yes, as we have said before, this is a business, but this is our business, and this is Hanover Park. A place to come and try new wines, maybe some vintage wines, to bring a picnic on a pretty fall day and relax. Yes, we do need to sell our wine, but we like doing it our way. So, come and visit and share a bottle of wine with friends soon.
